Event specialist joins Mayoral Commission

Fomer managing director of The Event Organisation Vanessa Cotton has been named as one of the first six expert members of the Mayoral Commission.
The body was set up by the London Development Agency to investigate the case for a large-scale convention centre in London. It includes specialists from business travel, property, architecture, venue ad events management.
They will convene around five times a year, and are due to meet at this month’s IMEX.
Gerry Acher, chairman of the commission, said: “Vanessa brings invaluable hands-on experience of the C&I travel sector, as well as tremendous enthusiasm to drive this important work forward.”
Other members include Martin George, BA director of marketing and commercial development; Gary Grimmer, former CEO of Melbourne CVB; and Roger Tondeur, CEO of PCO MCI Group.
