Six meetings and travel industry experts have been appointed to the London ICC
Mayoral Commission, a group formed to investigate the feasibility of a new
convention centre for London. The commissioners are: Vanessa Cotton, former
managing director of the Event Organisation Co.; Martin George, British
Airways’ director of marketing and commercial development; Gary Grimmer, former
CEO of Melbourne Convention and Visitors Bureau; Katie Kopec, European
director, strategic consulting, Jones Lang LaSalle; Larry Oltmanns, director of
the architects Skidmore, Owings and Merrill; and Roger Tondeur, CEO of MCI
Group, a destination manangement firm. The commission is chaired by London
businessman Gerry Acher.
