Convention centre plan advances
Evening Standard, 12 February 2004
The head of a commission which will decide if London should have a multi-million
pound international convention centre has been named.
Gerry Acher, 58, vice-chairman of London First, has been chosen for his
experience in tackling complex schemes, the London Development Agency said.
The capital does not have a conference venue to host more than 5,000 people.
