THE QUESTION OF AN
INTERNATIONAL CONVENTION CENTRE
There is a growing debate as to whether an International Convention
Centre, located in London, would attract more
international visitors and generate a
lasting benefit to the capital and the country
as a whole. London already has a number of existing
convention facilities that cater for the market
and these are performing well. But as part
of developing London’s standing on the
worldwide stage a robust study has been undertaken
to explore whether a single facility, either new
or an extension to an existing centre, would
create focus and enhance London’s
international profile.

WHAT'S NEXT
The Commission published its
findings in October 2005, announcing that there is indeed
a strong case for a London ICC. Work has now begun
