CUSTOMER ADVISORY BOARD (CAB)
The Commission worked closely with Visit London and BTAG, the Business Tourism Advisory Group, to establish an advisory group that will give the ‘buyer’s perspective’ on the work of the Commission and on London’s business tourism offer as a whole. The group is comprised of 12 influential individuals who would be potential end users of a London ICC. They have international buying expertise, representing corporate, associations and the governmental sectors. They will also advise Visit London, in its role as the commercial and marketing arm for (business) tourism.
Ken Livingstone, Mayor of London, welcomed the Customer Advisory Board at London's City Hall on Wednesday, Nov. 10, following their first meeting. The Mayor spoke of the financial contribution that business tourism makes to London’s economy. He stressed the city’s aim to improve its product offering in line with London’s status as a world class city, and he discussed various plans in progress. The importance and value of direct feedback from potential clients for a London international convention centre (ICC) was emphasized.
The Mayor also thanked Chairman Gerry Acher and his fellow ICC Commissioners for their hard work so far, and stated that he was looking forward to hearing the results of the study next year. View photographs.
